Reflecting
In a study to better understand how experienced community pharmacists developed into highly empathetic pharmacists, it was found that learning empathy required observation and imitation of others, and the consistent use of self reflective practices in encounters that required empathy (1). To help readers understand what a written reflective practice entails, below is a sample reflection of a real situation that the author encountered. Patient specific details have been removed or modified to maintain patient confidentiality.
